Scotch and soda review: coin trick, well made no sleight of hand required. can mix with slieght of hand to make many coin effects. make a coin vanish then make it reapear anywhere anytime. comes with 1 "Special coin" and one normal caion and the one thing that helps it to be possible. this is an amazing table hop sand up, close up, type trick everything is examinable.EXCELLENT for table hoppers and or resturant workers. hope you like this trick!it is well worth its money

Scotch and Soda

Postby bwalder » Apr 22nd, '03, 11:21

Everyone should have this one - lots of excellent effects with one gimmicked set.

Beware - you really do get what you pay for. I have a really good US set and a cheaper version that sounds "hollow" when you tap it and just does not "feel right". ALso, beware the new Argnetinian-made Euro version - not a bad look and feel to it but it is murder to get the thing locked (nopise gives away the secret if you are not careful) and incredibly difficult to unlock - "bang ring" is right in this case.

With the US version I have, a slight press in the middle of the coin is all that is required - perfect for use with the Breakout ring.

does it being discouloured around the edge give it a more natural look, as obviously not all coins are kept sqeaky clean when in circulation

whoops major typo (thats probably wrong too)

thats a shame cos i see a lot of posts with people trying to stain their coins so that they dont look inconspicuos like the way they come out of the box

 i made the mistacke of useing a cleaner on my copper coins (mexican centavos), this left one with heat marks on it.
so i painted them green and drew a stick man on one face, now the kids as well as the adults follow the action.
since i am in england i can introduce them as special coins and no one suspects that there extra special.

i suppose that would also help to get away from them not being english tender a bit as well

Discoloured?

Postby bwalder » Apr 22nd, '03, 22:51

When you say discoloured around the edge.... you don't mean the copper edging that ALL half dollars have do you...?

you mean its meant to look like that? just shows how much i know (never been one for US coins anyways...lol) ok in that case, disregard all my previous posts, Scotch and soda is a great effect (trying to regurgitate both feet from my mouth...lol)

 scotch and soda is similar to coin unique its self contained

for brits its better than coin unique as the coins are foriegn and can be addressed as such.
try my tip of putting a sticky lable on the copper coin and drawing a stick man on it, eaiser for kids and drunk adults to follow.

I have bought scotch and soda made by Johnson from the US. The half dollar looks discoloured around the edge, and it's normal. I know this because I bought US half dollars for my okorto box set and they look exactly the same.
