Hi Monkey,

I know what you mean when it comes to TTs you do tend to be looking for them but your comment about things being obvious with hindsight as well as having the secret in front of you misses my point. These did not become obvious after watching the explanations, they were obvious during the performance. They gave a similar feeling to the self-working mathematical tricks that are really obvious if you have a reasonable grasp of numbers. The one that I really did like and was fooled by (to give you an idea of how poorly my brain works) was the first one 'Perfect Timing'. When I contrast this to something like The Marc Spelmann set (yes I suffer badly from CUPS) there is no comparison. I think that the Spelmann effects are superb and I only worked out one or two out of the whole 4 DVD set. For anyone who doesn't have the Spelmann set I think that it is the best DVD material that I own - thanks to the missus for a great birthday present.

They may have become obvious to you during the performance because you are a magician and therefore think like one when watching performances. If you saw a magician spread the deck in their hands you may be thinking to yourself 'ok, is he about to cull the spectators card, does he need to put the card to the top/bottom, has he caught a break there, was that a pass when he squared the deck...' etc. The lay person doesn't think any of that. They think their card is in the middle of the 'pack', there being no way he could know what it is and certainly no way of finding it again now he's closed the pack again.

Sankey tends to use some quite standard sleights and misdirection but don't think that they are necessarily obvious to the lay person.

Hello, I thought I'd revive this thread because Sankey has re-released the DVD! And he is including some bonuses as well!
