The Effect
Handing a spectator a small pay envelope, the magician asks her to hold it or place it into a convenient pocket.

The magician the removes a credit card wallet from his pocket. The wallet has six international currency symbols on one side, and the same six symbols on the opposite side.

Opening the wallet the magician draws focus to its contents; an I.D card, a money card, and a receipt. The magician asks the spectator to remove the receipt and see that it consists of numbers and letters. The spectator is then instructed to simply think of any of the numbers on the receipt.

Handing the receipt back to the performer, the spectator is given a chance to change their mind; being confident in their choice the spectator sticks to their selected number.

The magician asks the spectator to name their number for the first time. Closing the wallet the magician asks the spectator to count along the symbols until they reach their chosen number – the symbol that corresponds with the number is remembered.

The magician asks the spectator to open the envelope they have been holding since the start of the effect.

Inside they find a piece of paper with their chosen symbol drawn across it.

Finally, the magician rubs the piece of paper against his wallet and turns it over to reveal all the symbols on the reverse of the wallet now match the chosen symbol!

Review
I'm conflicted over this trick. It's an interesting idea, but badly packaged and a little ill thought out at times

Included with the DVD is a free wallet, a couple of receipts, and an envelope (woohoo!). Thing is, the wallet is cheap looking. Alongside the symbols on the wallet (which reminds me of the free plastic wallet I carry my bus pass in), it screams "trick"

As for the trick/routine/handling, I like the force. It's a rather nice force that looks (and is) very clean indeed. You can even use your own receipts, if you don't like the one enclosed (there's some instructions provided if you want to do this). I also really like the handling. There's some subtleties in there which makes the ending even more of a kicker

But I don't like the middle bit. It's a counting trick. I hate counting tricks. But this is worse, on a wallet which has symbols on a 2 by 3 grid, it's very easy for the spec to miss what to do

With thought I think something could be made of this trick. I just really hate the wallet. You have to use something other than the wallet

Included is a bonus trick, Perceptive Reality, which is a nice little card trick which is nicely explained. So it's not all bad

Agreed the wallet is rubbish and the secnd part ofthe effect where you change all the symbols on the back to the prediction to me doesent add anything and actually gives a huge clue to the method imo
