Hmmm - d'you know, this looked sooo good in all the write-up's and reviews; an OOTW effect with a logical rationale (rather like Lebanon Circle's 'From Hell', but without the gore and corpse pikkies).
Whilst there will be those who - quite rightly - say that this effect is only as powerful as you're prepared to make it in terms of presentation, I feel oddly disappointed with Whitestar but can't quite put my finger on why...
Certainly, the repro cabinet pictures are very nice indeed - glossy, thick and nicely-presented in terms of back story, and I've no argument that the enclosed manual is hugely-comprehensive, but I still can't help feeling that the £30.00 asking price is around £10 too high.
As previously-mentioned by another poster, if there had been extra props included, such as repro Titanic Tickets and Coins etc., then I'd possibly feel differently.
As it stands though, and irrespective of the 'different' handling, this *is* pretty much exactly the same as OOTW with pictures, instead of cards - if you perform OOTW, I'd suggest saving your moolah, and putting together your own picture-based variant.
In conclusion, I *so* wanted to be bowled-over with Whitestar; I absolutely ADORE Critchlow's 'Til Death Do Us Part', and this just seems like an anticlimax in comparison.
Sure, I'll use it a few more times, at least, to give it a fair shot, but I'm just not feeling that all-important 'click' with Whitestar
