This is the 3 disc dvd set from Paul Gertner, demonstrating 24 effeckts from his book Steel and Silver.
I will highlite af few of my favorite effeckt from each disc.
Price: $26 each at penguinmagic.com
Disc 1:
"A familiar ring"
this is a 4 coins across routine. A borrowed ring is incorporated in the routine.
Basically 4 coins travel from your hand to the spectators hand, one at a time.
There is a nice little twist at the end, using the borrowed ring.
"Ring thing"
The old moving thumb trick, but done with a ring at the tip of the thumb.
A nice little addition to any trick using a finger ring.
Disc 2:
"Thats Ridiculous"
This is my favorite effect of the whole set.
4 aces are placed on the mat. A coin is produced between two jokers, then vanished and reappeared under the first ace. The coin is vanished again, then appeared under the second ace, then 3rd and then 4th.
As a climax, 7 coins and a jombo coin is produced at a fast pace.
This is a very cool trick, well worth the price of the dvd.
"Cups and steel balls"
Pauls variation of the classic, using steel ball bearings.
This is not the most practical version I have seen, but it deffinetly is a joy watching Pauls handling of this classic, and is great inspiration for your own cups and balls routine.
Disc 3:
"Unshuffled"
A card is chosen from a shuffled deck with markings on the edge.
The deck is then farro shuffled a few times, to reveal the word unshuffled on the edge of the deck.
The deck is now spread out face up, to show that the cards are now assorted in colours ace-king.
at the end of the trick, the word unshuffled at the edge of the deck, has now changed into the name of the chosen card.
As a bonus on each disc, there is an appearence of Paul in the Tonight show.
some of the effeckts needs alot of prep and is not very practical imo. but it is still very interesting to see Pauls performances and getting the insights of the routines.
having said that, i will deffinetly recommend these dvds and they are a great addition to the book.
