No Tear Newspaper

ok, first the review (lifted from emagictricks.co.uk)

The TRICK of 1998 & Still Going Strong!!!

Every magician should own a 'NO Tear NewsPaper'!

Tear a newspaper into 8 pieces & it VISIBLY restores itself!

Perform Again & Again with this Powerful MAGNETIC original by Mark Mason.

Remember the torn pieces VISIBLY restore to shock your crowd.

Instant Re-Set!

NO Wadding or Folding

NO Wire gimmick

Made in England by JB Magic

Effect of the Decade!
Newspaper is torn in 8 pieces and VISUALLY restores itself!
Perform again & again!

Now, you are probably thinking .... and .....

well, here I go

I brought this trick in 1999, I was in the USA, and visited my first ever 'magic shop'... completely clueless, I asked what they would recommend to a novice thinking of doing some magic to some friends, I already had some small closeup stuff and they suggested this as a big visual effect..

Well, this might have been the effect of 1998, and since then we have had David Blaine doing his stuff... but I would still recommend this trick.

On a base level, you can take a newspaper (I'm talking broadsheet like The Times), tear it up, and then in one quick movement restore it - stunning!! but very quick.
Alternatively you can get inventive, I did a little routine a while ago using a David Beckham theme, I started off by talking through his career and hairstyles, each time reaching into my pocket to bring out a newspaper clipping with a headline of photo (this works as you build up a conversational rapport with the audience) ... "do you remember the £600 shaved head" etc.... anyway I ended up by transforming these clippings into that days Times with the headlines "Becks off to Madrid"....

This is a great effect, and you are not stuck with the newspaper supplied!!

Its very easy to do, I'd give it a 1-2 rating.

Cost £18.95

It costs £18.95 and therefore isn't cheap, and I suppose at face value it's a little bit of a one trick pony... but as you have read there are two ways of performing this
1) tear a newspaper and restore it
2) take 'torn out' articles and restore to a full size newspaper
plus once you know the secret, with a little application this can be used in a variety of ways without a newspaper.
