A section dedicated to memorised and stacked decks

Postby the stackman » Sat Apr 09, 2011 5:40 pm

I know it could be considered a little forward to make a request in only my third post, but there are many threads on this site dedicated to these systems and I think they would benefit from being in one place.

cheers,

stack.

Thats a nice idea - and cerianly would be an interesting read - but where would it end? so many different wonderful principles out there could equally have their own forum?

true. but this then it finds itself within a large family of subjects that are quite expansive but have their own forum.

plus i think with it's emphasis on clever control and memorization, the information could be quite useful for the mentalists who use this site.

If Stacky gets a stack section can I have an R&S section?

please note I encourage the opening of said Stack section
Not that I'm into stacks, I just want my R&S section

If stackman gets his stack forum, and lawrence gets his R&S forum, can I have my forum to request extra forums forum?

And therein we have the answer! As we've explained before, the general policy on TM is to minimise the number of rooms and we reduced them two or three years ago in response to many posts asking for such a move. If we had one for stacks, we'd have to have similar rooms for many other genres of magic which would take us back to how it was before the reduction mentioned above.

In which case, why not remove the Forum Request section altogether, or at least modify the sub-header from "Ideas for improvement or new categories" to "Ideas for improvement?".

I think it is misleading to ask people to propose new categories if they cannot be implemented for historical reasons.

Forum Requests applies to many other matters, not just new rooms, and was added because people asked for the facilty.

However, as this aspect seems to be causing some confusion, the heading has been amended slightly - hope this is now more clear.

incidently, what would be the problem with having many forum areas for different topics? is it that they are difficult to manage, or a lack of moderators, etc?
