The Effect (in Paplo’s words)

Do you want an impossible looking prediction with simple objects and easy moves ?

Last year I published the “Impromptu and Colorful Prediction” eBook and book with great response from the community.
A few performers asked me after that if I have a way to predict thoughts using just papers and pen. Impromptu Prediction 2.0 is one of my solutions.
No gimmicks (just business cards/blank cards and a pen)
Easy mechanics
PERFECT for walkaround (No Reset)
Real world tested routine
Yes... the "Cap Subtlety" is in the eBook.
You will get not 1 but 2 different methodologies that can be used to predict initials, numbers, cards, symbols, etc.and a LOT of great ideas , beautiful psychological and verbal finesses that you will use to create an even better performance.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Hard to say, there are no knuckle busting moves but you should have the confidence to give a performance and this will make the whole thing a miracle.

Review

Firstly, to put this review in context, I am not a full time working pro, I was a hobbyist and an enthusiastic non performer. I have now started to perform and am learning the value of good solid effects and scripting.
Secondly, let me say that I’ve had this for a month now, so it’s not a “just got this and these are my impressions” review, I’ve tried it in a number of situations just to make sure it works as smoothly as it did the first time (didn’t believe the reactions first time, should’ve had more faith). First time was an extended family party and I did the basic presentation. Let me here say, firstly, that the effect is fully scripted with justifications for each part of the script, whilst giving plenty of room to personalize it for your style, this is most important as the majority of the spectator’s experience is in the presentation, your presentation, give it the time and sincerity it deserves remember it is a mentalism effect and not a card trick (no, I’m not belittling card tricks, I rely on them too much, but the presentation needs slowing down and soberifying (I know it’s not a real word but you know what I mean) to show it at it’s peak). This first presentation was more of a success than I thought possible and shows that the spectator’s experience is so different than ours.
Next time I took tried it out at a formal meal, this was worked on three tables with slight differences in presentation and themes (easily done with the material and ideas included) and stunned them all, more so after the meal when they obviously discussed it and compared notes on what they saw and still couldn’t trace the method. These people do not always know each other (so when they started talking about what they experienced pre meal it must have made quite an impression) and neither are the lacking in brain cells either (the drinks after and during the meal may have added an extra something to their memories) and so all this shows that it will stand up to close scrutiny with all parties involved.
I have even done this in a pub, just to test the IMPROMPTU side of it, I used it to predict the first person to enter the pub at a set time, using two others on the table as “mediums” when it was a true prediction they took the kudos and I took the pint! This needed more work as they only had to think of ideas and I took down the impressions received. Worked a treat.
Hidden at the end is an amazing bonus entitled The Cap Subtlety this in itself is a fantastic evolution into an amazing tool that works wonderfully here, and an idea written almost as a throw away idea that has made it to my main fallback impromptu effect when a group of people come to you with the ”if you’re a mind reader.....” opening line. This is Chronoprecognition, quick, simple, impromptu and astounding. Everything you need

What more can I say? The system is so versatile and malleable yet the scripting ideas so tight that it is hard to envisage a situation that it cannot be used in. The book itself is well written and illustrated with pictures where needed as well as a video clip. Add to all this the fact that they walk away with a business card and you have a sure fire winner and one that should be in everyone’s arsenal, with the added bonus that it takes up no pocket space at all if you normally carry business cards and a pen. I will be getting more from Pablo at http://www.amirasideas.com/ in fact I have my eye on his 5 Miracles with 5 ESP Card being a sucker for ESP effects and can’t wait for his new release, Pendulums. Everything I have seen emerge from this fertile mind has been so well thought out and scripted, they are a pleasure to use.

Overall

9/10. Well thought out, fantastically scripted with loads of extra presentational advice and material. Nothing gets a 10/10 from me, nothing in life can ever be perfect, but this is damn good, tight and as I said earlier a joy to use. Highly recommended and can't wait to see what comes next.
