No reason why you can't be told the name of the count IMO it's a magic forum after all. It's The Elmsley Count and yes it is a killer effect. Just a tip for the future. Know the names of youe counts and sleights. It may not seem that important but when you want to tell someone what your having trouble with it becomes very important. Here is a great little book reviewed on Talk Magic. Buy it, it was invaluable to me and it covers the Elmsley and Jordan counts plus many other counts and subtelties. Well worth the money as it's a real gem.

Just to add, I absolutely love this routine, starts clean, finishes clean looks impossible to the spectators. I performed this so much the original cards would no longer easily Elmsley so I wound up replacing them with Bikes.

As an aside to Devil's Tailor I use the Elmsley from Card College Vol. 2.

I was practising this trick last night. I have found that since I started doing my Elmsley in the hand rather than at the finger tips (looked awful and I'm glad I've been put straight now), I have lots more control and it looks far more convincing.

It's funny really because I've had this a while and had phases of liking it and then leaving it...but then Stand Up Monte came out and I liked the look of that. Didn't buy it because I think it confuses people in the wrong way; just an information overload. This is very overlooked IMO.

You mean C.O.P is overlooked? It's actually a best-seller for me. DAVID REGAL raved about it a few years ago...as have many others. It's very rewarding... :)

Three chapters to go, and I'll be joining you all for a well-earned pint or twelve.
