LEGION eBook by Dee Christopher
Greetings from Finland fellow magician!
Todays subject is eBook titled LEGION, by Dee Christopher. I got this mentalism device (or instructions to build it) few days ago and been working with it since. Legion is mainly a mentalist gimmick, which you can adapt to various things.

The Effect

“Have several people see the face of a single card, isolated from the deck, to have several different values. Each person sees a different card. You could then show this single card as blank if you wish.
You can also easily force a card with unparalleled freedom from a completely shuffled deck you never touch. This is immediately repeatable with another card of a different or of the same value.
A card is shown as indifferent, then transforms in to a selection instantly or in the spectator’s hand.
You could take a stack of photographs and perform all of the above effects/utilities with those to force a particular image or person.”

Cost
£10.00 / .PDF Download + Construction costs less than £2.00.

Difficulty = 1-3
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Review
The PDF file is understandable and clean. If you are having problems with English, it may be a bit hard. It contains few photos to clarify things, which is always a good thing.

Legion surely offers great amount of opportunities. The download does not contain many ready presentations, you will have to bother your brain a little. It’s easy to come up with new ideas with this gimmick once you get familiar with it. It is easy to do, easy to use and quite subtle.
First I thought I don’t really need gimmick to force a card. And I don’t, but when you need to force more than one card Legion is great. You use classic force / riffle force in one routine and continue to second and force with Legion.
There are tons of forcing methods and devices, but that’s not the main thing about Legion in my opinion. There is so much to do with this device, and you can easily personalize it to fit your style!
I personally like the hallucination style effect where 2 or more spectators think they look the same card but get the different value. Then reveal it as blank, or joker, you name it. I like to present it the way that I’m influencing spectator’s thoughts. You can also make a comic presentation with Legion if you wish.
The additional use with envelopes or photos is just great. As I don’t perform much with cards I found that really nice extra.
If you like to perform mentalist acts with many outs, this is a nice addition to arsenal. You can use Legion with other multiple outs methods or as itself only. The Legion only can produce almost limitless amount of outs.

Overall
I highly recommend this. Legion offers great amount of possibilities with easy to construct and easy to handle utility device. It is easy to make it fit your style. Worth the price.

Although I am excited about finding someone from Finland (where I actually reside) and I am tempted by this PDF, I am a bit perplexed that on the website I found this:

Reviewers
We're on the hunt for reviewers for the products on Mindlapse.net.
We're looking for people who write exciting and in-depth reviews and post regularly on major forums, i.e. The Magic Cafe, Theory11, Talk Magic.
If you feel that you could fill this position and would like to receive loads of free mentalism products, email info@mindlapse.net for further details.

Being promised free material for post "exciting reviews" kind of spoils the value of a review...

And note that I am not implying in anyway that you are connected to this: I am just questioning the practice.
