Yet again, another couple of brilliant dvd's from John.
Priced at £19.99 each, or £39.98 for the pair.

All card magic on these dvd's, except one bill switch, (Simplex Transpo) a slightly different handling to his other routine on "Handle With Carey" I like them both.
I'm a big John Carey fan, I love his direct approach. Easy to learn card magic with out the need for any complicated slights, but still achieving strong magic in the eyes of the layman.
Don't get me wrong, there are some wonderful card manipulators out there, with fancy cuts, & flourishes, but John just seems to have this knack of being
able to take the same routines, & simplyify them, yet still have the same end result.

Over 24 routines, 4 hours in total, including a PDF file with more material. I think that works out at £1.66 each fantastic value for money.
All the routines are performed with live spectators, then again with fellow magicians, each routine is then explained in detail by John himself.
Good easy to follow instruction, with good camera angles.
I would put both of these dvd's into Intermediate/Advanced level of difficulty.
All of the routines can be done using a borrowed deck, & all the routines are fully examinable at the end (no gaffs)
I haven't got many dvd's where I would consider learning all the material on them, this is one exception. All very good strong magic.
If your looking for a new addition to your card magic dvd library, then this is a must have set. Scores 10 out of 10 for me, & I can strongly recommend them.

Featured routines Vol.1 include:
•Simplex Transpo
John's very clean and direct transposition of two signed bank notes using a wonderful Tamariz idea

•Gemini reflections
Using a wonderful Karl Fulves idea, spectator and magician replicate each other perfectly in this location
•Coinkidinky
John's variant on a great Alan Ackerman effect. A very simple and strong production of a four of a kind
•6 Card O and W
A quick 4 phase oil and water that is ideal for strolling workers
•Split and spread control
A very deceptive tabletop card control inspired by Bernard Billis
•Interlocking flyer
A vanish and magical translocation of a selection
•Kick
A signed card and a ton of visual action in this walk-around worker
•Imaginary Reality
John's take on the classic do as I do plot using a real deck and one in the imagination. A strong, memorable piece using a wonderful Vernon idea
•Conscious/Subconscious
Another do as I do designed for the working magician
•Two to Tango
A selection and a thought of number come together in this impromptu revelation involving 2 spectators
•Crystal Transposition
A very direct divination and transposition combined. Perfect for restaurant and bar work
•Shh it's a Mystery...
John's super direct and engaging approach to a Brother John Hamman card classic

Featured routines Vol.2 include:
•Color Opener
John's take on the classic in the hands triumph with a color-changing kicker
•S.W.I Interchange
A four 4 four pocket transposition. Minimum work maximum impact
•It's all a Mystery
Carey's take on the classic mystery card, again designed for the real world
•Gemini Production
An almost self-working production of a four of a kind involving a spectator
•Homing In
Carey's take on an old classic, involving a divination and a card to pocket combined.
•Impulsive Revelation
A great hands off discovery of a selected card using a two people from your audience. Makes the spectator the star
•3 thoughts 3 Located
A beautiful hands off discovery involving, tells, memory and thoughts
•When Nyquist met Lorayne
A very strong and subtle approach to the classic sandwich plot. A favorite of Jack Carpenter’s
•Interlocking Sandwich
More of John's very direct thinking applied to this classic of card conjuring:
•An Impossible Conclusion
Carey meets Jennings in this beautiful 3 phase revelation inspired by an all time great
•Triple Triumphant
A 3 selection approach to Triumph with a minimum of moves but maximum impact
•On the Count of...
A signed selection vanishes in a spectator’s hand only to appear at a freely chosen number. Powerful and practical

I order both these DVDs from John himself and they arrived two days later, his usual excellent service. Just got through looking at the 24 routines [not the explanations] and from the first viewing it’s a 10 out of 10 from me.
I have already picked out 18 that I want to do.
So because of all the great materiel on here I certainly will not be spending as much at Blackpool this year. :D

That might be just wishful thinking.

Two excellent DVDs John
Thank you
