Hello to all on this website.

I am Lucid Dragon and i have been currently been performing magic for around 13/14 years. I am starting to turn towards the mentalism route for stage but still love to use slight of hand for close up. I feel that doing magic on stage, for me at least, is harder to justify. Yes the magician on stage is doing impossible things, but alot of the time they are using brightly coloured props that people aren't used to seeing and the audience on the whole knows that its a trick. With mentalism, although people ususally know its a trick, it can create a deeper connection with the audience and there is the thought in their minds that it might be real in some way.

My influences include Derren Brown, Luke Jermay, Richard Osterland, Max Maven, Banachek, Lenart green, Ricky Jay, and Jimmy talksalot.

Note: i do realise that the absence of such names as Tony Corinda, Theodore Annemann, etc, might seem a little odd as i am a starting mentalist. I must say that these such people have published some of the most fundimental ideas and concepts in mentalism. The only reason i do not include them in my influences is because i have not had the opertunity to see them perform. The main reasons i see the performers above as my main influences is because i have seen their character and stage persona and all of them have had me mesmerised as i watched.

Another note: Jimmy talksalot is incluuded in this list because i had the good fortune of being able to work with him for a few short weeks a few years ago when he was here in london. Watching him perform was like notheing i had ever seen before. He uses only what he can carry in his very small case which usually includes some juggling balls, a pack of cigarettes, a few pieces of rope, a hankerchiefe and a stick. The absence of gimmicks or feke's means he can travel the world without people thinking he's a magician. Watching him perform really changed my street show which i still do from time to time.

I know this has been a little long but i really wanted to get most information about me into one post. If you have read all of this, you are a real truper and i thank and congratulate you.

Yours Mentaly
Lucid Dragon

Heyho Lucid good to see you here.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.
