Name: Departure – Key Fob Ring Flight

Price: 39,95 EUR

Where to buy: http://www.my-magicshop.com/magic-trick ... oberts.php

Creator: Derek Roberts/Magicsmith

Packaging Quality: The whole package comes in a clear plastic heat sealed sleeve.

Instructions Quality: You are supplied with an instructional CD ROM. Very good teaching, teaches everything you need to know in great detail.

Contents: You are supplied with the ‘departure key fob’ and the instructional CD ROM.

Prop Quality: This is very cool. The key fob looks exactly like a car alarm key fob and the reel operates very nicely.

Initial Thoughts: I really like ring flights and I own two other models. The ones I have, the ring appears in a leather key case which is perfect for more formal presentations. Departure is simply a car alarm fob which isn’t too large so you can always carry it attached to your keys. I will always carry departure as it won’t get in the way meaning I can perform departure anywhere. The clip that the ring attaches to couldn’t be simpler and means that attaching the ring is never fiddly or suspicious.

After Playing for a while: I am already familiar with the moves, misdirection and subtleties involved in performing ring flight so I could jump straight into using this. Everything just works perfectly allowing you to focus on your presentation. As with any ring flight, there is always a little noise from the reel however this is normally covered by ambient room noise such as talking etc. so not really anything to worry about.

First Performance: I perform this for a group of business associates using a standard presentation of polishing a finger ring with wool, (flash wool) causing the ring to vanish in a flash of fire causing the ring to appear on my keys. This always kills.

Overall Audience Reaction: Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Ring flight is a super strong effect and departure makes it seem even more natural and impossible.

Pros: Works very well. Looks natural, well priced.

Cons: the length of the xxx could do with being a little longer as when you vanish the ring it needs to be fairly close to your body, but to be honest, typically this is the case anyway as this muffles any sounds and eliminates any ‘flashing’.

Value for Money: Definitely worth the purchase if you want a natural looking, easy to use ring flight.

I ve never seen this one in the flesh before but it does seem a good price and worth the extra money than the wallet/keyholder ones that are out there.

I have to say though I bought a Ring Filght Revolution from Dave Bonsall and it really is excellent. A lot more expensive undoubtedly but it comes with a 2 year guarantee which for me makes up for it.The way the housing of the gimmick is done in an original car key together with what I believe is a unique locking mechanism makes it the best out there in my humble opinion.

Departure is great if you're an occasional performer. If you're doing ring flight regularly then Dave Bonsalls Ring Flight Revolution is the way to go. There is an inherent problem with the line breaking on Departure. I heard of this happening to a lot of people. With RFR I'm yet to hear of it happening and there are lots of guys out there using it nightly. Also everything in RFR is replaceable. With departure once something breaks it's had it.
Departure was a fantastic ring flight once but then Dave Bonsall released RFR and we realised what we were missing! ;)

Regards
Sean

Ring flight revolution is definitely the best ring flight out there, prices start from £85 all the way up to £150 depending on what car key you want.

Just incase anyone is still thinking of purchasing this product from what I have read it is still the best ring flight for its low price range. I just purchased mine a couple of days ago and it works great. Also magic smiths have a 1 year no questions guarantee just incase the gimmick does break.
