My novel (about a magician!) now available on Kindle

Postby TonyB » Mar 8th, '12, 23:47

Hi everyone. Hope it is not out of order to mention this. If you are looking for a fast-paced thriller with a touch of magic, my novel The Gilli Gilli Man is now available through Amazon on Kindle. It is a tale of international terrorism, with a magician on the run, with no one to help him but a renegade CIA agent. The action ranges from the desserts of the middle east to the Arctic. It is 110,000 words long, so a good substantial read.

If you buy it and like it, I would love if you could spread the word. If you buy it and don't like it, let me know. The feedback is always helpful.

For UK readers the link is http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Gilli-Man-e ... 351&sr=8-1

For other territories the link is http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007GFD0NQ

If this is a success I will be publishing others in the series - and bringing out a physical paperback.

As one author to another I wish you well with it. I wish I could figure out this Kindle thing. How do you promote a book on it?

I don't have a kindle - so would be interested if there are any plans to make it a "real" book?

For £2.59 it's a bargain! Bought and downloaded, will read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest!

Is there anyway that you read Kindle books if you haven't got a Kindle?

The kindle app can be downloaded to a PC, IOS device or your favourite flavour of Android.

Thanks for the support, folks. You can read a kindle book on an ordinary PC. I discovered this when I bought Mark Lewis's book on hypnosis.

Amazon offer a free download of the software for PC and also apps for smartphones. When you synchronise the book you're currently reading on your PC, the smartphone version automatically opens at that page!

I just finished the book and it gets a great big thumbs up from me! Good to see all the magicky references in there so I can sit with a smug grin on my face thinking, 'Yeah, I know about that' but non-magicians would enjoy the book just as much.

The plot moves at a good pace, the descriptions of the settings are excellent – you can really feel the oppressive heat and the bitter cold when in the appropriate parts of the globe, the bloodthirsty bits are stark and, to a certain extent, shocking, the humorous parts are exactly that, the emotional parts are very well written without going OTT. The characters are well known and equivalents will be found in other action novels but Tony’s characters certainly have a ‘live’ feel about them. Only someone who has ‘been there and done that’ could have written about the Lapland/Santa stuff so well and that’s what makes this book even more enjoyable. There’s a strong hint that this may not be the only novel to feature the central character – excellent news indeed!
