Well, that's something new...

At the end of November, I was made redundant. Joined the world of Government Statistics as a "Job Seeker". Spent my time learning Ruby on Rails (badly), annoying the cats with cards (they can catch them pretty good now) and blogging.

Somehow, after applying for a Full Time Tech Writer position on one of the not so huge gadget blogs, I've managed to pass the IM based interview and got offered a 12 month contract.

This is fantastic, something I've wanted to do for so long, and seriously scary for me. I may have blogged before, but in my own style. This time it's more AP-esque but at least I get paid and a year or more of this job would be great for the CV, which still has Donkey Leading and Bouncy Castle Attendant on it.

If anyone has any suggestions before I start work on Monday, please say now...

Suggestions? You've managed to get a job doing something you really want to do, so enjoy it! I hope it goes well and, if you really like it, that you get another contract at the end.

Since I'll be working from home for the most part as the daily commute to San Francisco is a bit tricky, I'll pass on the palm reading...
