The Effect

Cost
$47.50 (Around £30)
Doesn't seem to be available from any UK dealers, oddly, but can be found here, complete with YouTube demo: http://www.stevensmagic.com/product/car ... __7588.htm

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Difficulty is 1-2 at the very most; this is simples in extremis :D

Review
Despite owning a fair variety of wallets already, I was lucky enough to bag this little star earlier in the month, and have to admit being pretty darn impressed.

Essentially, this is a predicted card in sealed envelope in wallet effect that requires absolutely NO force whatsoever, no gaffed envelope and no real sleights of any kind. As such, it's very, very clean and can even - with a little simple card control - be performed with a borrowed deck.

The effect is that a card is freely (and I do mean freely!), chosen by your spec., by them dealing cards, face-down, onto the table and stopping whenever they get the urge to (you don't even need to touch or handle the deck in any way, or at any point).

You then grab your wallet, remove the sealed envelope, and place this onto the table, putting your trusty wallet away again.

That's it! At no point do you now touch anything else! The spec opens the envelope, which contains a single card, and then turns their chosen card face-up; needless to say, it's a perfect match!!

Overall

This is an ultra-clean, ultra-easy prediction, which really does pack a massive punch. Everything (with the exception of the wallet, which has no heat on it at any point irrespective) can be fully-examined, because there's NOTHING to find - envelope, deck of cards and prediction card are ALL 100% ordinary.

The wallet itself is leather (though not of a massively-high quality, but nice, nonetheless), and has compartments for paper currency, credit cards/business cards etc., and works like a dream.

What small piece of work there is to pull off this effect can't even be described as a sleight, it's that easy, and what I love about this baby is that it's almost all totally hands-off - pretty much everything of importance is done solely by the spectator, leaving us lucky owners to concentrate on the presentation.

Simple. Clean. Hard-hitting.

An easy 8/10 for me (only loosing points for the slightly underwhelming wallet finish) - highly-recommended, if you have chance to get your hands on one :D

Glad you like it Rob. I had it for ages, but never really got round to using it, as I use other wallet effects, and had problems with having to justify producing another wallet.

It's a stunner, and no mistake, Keith (and, no - you can't have it back ;) )

Well, if you ever get fed up with it, give me first refusal, Keith.

I can achieve the same effect with a JLO Large wallet. Think about it.

The wallet is nice though...

This was fully detailed in the free book from Blackpool this last Feb. It was a David Howarth effect.
