There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of tricks involving production and vanish of flowers and similar objects. Any good magic book will be a good place to start your research.

Wow. . . I just stumbled over a treasure chest for you. . .

Abbott's Magic is one of the oldest, still standing Brick & Mortar shops out there and they always have the good, nearly forgotten stuff out there. Here's the main link to their flower magic section
http://www.abbottmagic.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=Flower+Magic also see -- http://www.abbottmagic.com/Flower-Magic_c21.htm

Harry Blackstone (Sr more so than Jr.) would walk out on stage and as two young ladies joined him, he'd offer them each a bouquet of Roses (sleeved) followed by two more for two other ladies (same) He would then take up a large cloth that could be seen as empty and from its folds produce 4 huge bouquets (Giant Garden of Flowers) followed by several bits no one else has every used and ending with two key pieces; the Florabella and then a grand production, usually a fountain but given how unpredictable said piece can be, the Abbott tub of Flowers & Doves would make for a nice segue piece, leading you straight into a nice Bird Act.

If you look at the catalog I just described an act that will cost you about $12,000.00 just to start. . the basics when it comes to a full flower act and that's the lower price. Unfortunately the art of making those beautiful plums is practically lost and the few that still do it expect firm compensation for their time becuase if is tedious work rife with eye strain.

For the time being, I'd just get the books and CDs that are being offered and build up from there.

I have a unique knowledge of the Blackstone act so feel free to IM me should you have any questions.

Have you tried any book on parlour magic?
Have you tried persusing your local magic shop? Brick or in cyber space.
Try http://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/ and type in flowers in the search.

I've had a PM suggesting that there's just one magic word to know which will produce flowers galore at your command. That word is ....... Interflora.

If you look up the website that Spellbinder runs, The Magic Nook, I'm sure he sells loads of tricks detailing how to make your own flower tricks, a reasonable price as well I think. I remember reading some stuff from him describing the making of more realistic looking flowers than the ones you buy from magic dealers. Perhaps best to send him a message from his website asking him directly about flowers as I can't remember if he's still a member of talkmagic. He definitely has lots of knowledge about making flowers for productions as I remember reading some fairly lengthy text from him around christmas time on the subject. Hope this helps.

I'll not get nasty over that previous post but one should realize that there is a huge difference between having a piano and owning a Steinway. . .

Unless you're are exceptionally talented as an artist, making your own Flowers. . . especially feather flowers, isn't wise. On the other hand, if you know how to tie a good fishing fly, the feather flower bouquet MIGHT prove an curious challenge for you and a potential career given how fast a feather bouquet looses it's umph!

You don't need to have "the best" flowers in an act but you do need to have decent quality materials if you're to be received well. The labor of making Spring Flowers can be practical to a limit, after a particular point however, it's a pain in the hinney.

To sum up, start with the basic, simple stuff in magic books and, when you're ready and have lots of cash available, you can perhaps move on to the more expensive and complex stuff. Remember this, keeping it simple is not only low cost, it's also very flexible so you can switch or drop methods without worrying about the financial aspect.

My dear fellow, if you were to think about it you'll realise that a flower is much like any other object that you may find. How would you go about producing a fine bottle of wine or perhaps a live hare from one's hat? You'll find that many of the basic works on magic will hold the answer to the mysterys which you're seeking.

There is Pat Page's Quick Bouquet production--in his lecture notes & I think in his Big Book Of Magic. There is other stuff on flowers in the B B of M--one for sale on E Bay this week OR get the digital version from Lybrary.com

Vernet--sells 2 gimmicks which hold spring flowers and you produce one at a time from the air..or even 2 at a time if you use both hands.

You can keep producing one flower attached to the old cigarette production gimmick

The Kellar Flower Growth is detailed in a number of books--but you need the tables.

Sam Dalal--Magic of India sells a small tray that produces spring flowers--one produces a bunch or two & there is another which does up to 4 bunches
He also has several flower tricks, including Botanias.
Try Eddie Burke (Mr. E Enterproses) & Magic Nevin at Lincoln. But several dealers stock Sam's flower products.

Then there is the one growing flower and the feather bouquet which grow up to about 8 or 9 flowers

And of course in Tarbell 4 there are 2 flower tricks, Volume 5 has 3 tricks and there is an Organ Pipe flower production in Volume 6

Then you have Flower Darts which stick in the floor--used to come from a Ghost Tube but any production box will do..Try Paul Howard Pro Magic in Harrogate

And finally till my brain wakes up--it is a Saturday morning you know--there is the De Kolta Flowers from a Paper Cone.''SEE Jeff Mc Brides Magic on Stage DVDS

BUT for the most incredible Flower production of all time you should have seen the late Dinardi & his family fill the stage with flowers-singles, bouquest, darts, botanias, flowers in pots etc.--ALL from one wooden box--approximately 70cms by 40cms .
When he first appeared in this country at the Leeds Old Time Theatre the artists before him could not get on stage for their curtain calls--they had to go on the cat walk. This was on TV and a later appearance in a studio and of course he did FISM & I think--the British Ring Convention. I have heard that Peki may have purchased the Act
