I just spent an incredible weekend in Edinburgh watching some of the best magic I have ever seen.

On Friday MagicFest was launched with a quite sublime Gala Show featuring some of the best acts from around the world.

Saturday evening saw a MagicFest Magic Dinner held at the luxurious Royal Scots Club where guests enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal and were treated to close-up magic at tables as well as a stage show after the main course.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be involved in judging the under 18s and over 18s close-up competitions. Again, we had entrants from all over the UK taking part and both competitions were of a very high standard.

Finally, last evening, we went to see Matthew J Dowden's groundbreaking new show "Magic of the Movies". Matthew takes you on a spellbinding journey through the history of film using music, magic and impressions to bring his show to life. This was fresh, innovative, magical and wonderfully enjoyable. I highly recommend going to see this show!
