DREDD

Postby TheStoner » Sep 11th, '12, 15:57

Just seen it - superb. Very true to the original gritty Judge Dredd strips from 2000AD, although Mega City One is a bit "present day" rather than futuristic. The scene with multiple minigun turrets on full-auto is the best thing you will see this year. Highly recommended.

totaly agree good watch nothing like sylvesters dread which was much more comic book, this is more sweeny meets alien, good stuff.
and the matrix scenes were justified and in keeping with the storyline rather than a bolt on for the 3d, all hail to the rookie she's got skills. :)

Plenty of nods to long-time Dredd fans, loved the CHOPPER graffiti and the block names.

But is walter the wobot in it?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Walter is not in it. And neither is "Call Me Kenneth". But it is an amazing film and very well worth checking out.

As I understand it they've done a better job than the Stallone movie, but still completely missed the whole satire part of it. I just don't see the point in watching a Judge Dredd film if we're supposed to take him seriously.
