key-r-rect

Postby Ed Wood » Sep 26th, '12, 11:57

There are multiple ways to perform 7 keys and for a long time I've used a method I'm very happy with. The old Key-r-rect effect offers something that my method doesn't. I appreciate this hasn't been on the market for a long time although one does seem to come up for sale occasionally. There seem to be a number of alternatives though such as correct key. Does anyone know anything about these alternates, are they any good. My main aim is that the spectator and not me opens the lock at the end. I don't want to touch it which seems to the the beauty of key r rect.
Also does anyone know if the mechanics only work with 7 keys or can this be used with just 4?
Finally does anyone know of any UK dealers that carry these alternates?
Thanks,
Ed

Hi Ed. Yes Key-r-rect can be used with only four keys. As to its availability there in the UK, that I can not tell you.

Max Maven does a great version on Phase 2 of Video Mind which he calls 'key to the future'. Although it's designed for close-up rather than stage. :D I seem to remember it's the spectator who opens the lock at the end. I may be wrong as my memory is fading! :D

This uses an un-gimmicked padlock if I remember rightly so not a key-r-rect effect. It's a long time since I've watched this DVD so I could be wrong.
