So a collection of my dad's old songs are being released on a new album, I realize that technically I'm spamming here, my only defense is my dad has no knowledge on how to market himself and I wanted to help him out in whatever small way I could. I can guarantee I won't be profiting from this, as when I was ten my dad promised me if he ever made enough money I would never see a penny of it, or indeed him again.
I hope you can see this shameless unpaid for promotion of a non magic product is done out of genuine love rather than a desire of any sort of personal gain.
I would say I'm one of my dads biggest fans, from the poems and plays he would write for me and my brother when we were children to the comedy videos and cassettes he kept hidden in a box in which I would then sneak out to watch and listen to in my room, I've always considered myself lucky that along with his old material was I was around to hear the day to day humor he would bring to any occasion.
Since I am obviously biased I'm going to include a few quotes from others, I asked dad for his favorite quotes and they are.
'John Dowie, the pheasant/dead rat of alternative comedy' Stewart Lee
'John Dowie can neither sing nor play instruments, insists on doing both and we all leave whistling his tunes.' Unknown theater critic
'Best c**ksucker I ever met' Jimmey Savile
My dad has been called the forerunner of alternative British comedy by many people including Stewart Lee, Barry Cryer and Simon Munnery. You can read more about him here The most influential comedian you've never heard of Dave Cohen
John Dowie 'An Arc of Hives' will be available on October the eighth, on Amazon i-tunes and most likely the discount bin at your local gas station.
The C.D will include the following songs, you can listen to the ones highlighted in blue.
1. Acne
2. Idiot
3. Hitlers liver
4. It's hard to be an egg

If any of you do get the C.D or already know/like his work please leave a comment, as I'm always skeptical of self promotion or promotion by friends and families so some outside support would be greatly appreciated.
One last thing, if you only buy one of his songs on i-tunes I would recommend Angry old men, I honestly believe everyone has to hear that song at least once.
