well, I have just got in from a rather splendid evening , spent in the company of those all round Spiffing chaps Mr Morgan, And Mr West.
I cant recommend the boys highly enough. Their characters are full rounded believable individuals, costumed to perfection. Their properties all seemed to fit the theme , and their overall choice of effects and routines, only served to complete the Illusion of two Victorian magicians, who travel through time to baffle those whom they meet on their way.
For me, I have to single out one or two routines although this is going to be difficult, since all of them were fabulous.
Rhys and Robert's three man needle swallow , something that they have been performing for a number of years, is probably one of the best needle swallow routines i have ever seen. the Biscuit routine, is ( i think) bloody cheeky in method, but high impact mentalism. The lay audience loved it!.
Another cheeky routine involving two signed cards traveling across the stage, was another winner with the lays.
A cup and ball routine using a teacup and a sugar lump was fantastic.and what a BRILLIANT kicker ending.... seriously one for the magicians, ( i was the first to start clapping) but Brilliant!!!!!
The show ended with a lovely mentalism piece, using the complete Harry Potter series, and some time traveling, and then a simply divine piece of magic involving the magicians friend.. Sponge Balls. You have to see it to believe it.
There are very few two man magic acts out there at the moment, Take my word for it.. These two men are the best.
If you EVER get the chance to see them in action, GO!!!
After the show, chatting to the boys, They tell me that they are giving a performance, and a lecture at this years International week. The lecture is on Character work. I seriously recommend that if you are into any kind of stage , cabaret, or walk around, this is one to see!
you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
