If, just if, this was real, what would happen if the sticky out ears bloke waded in on a genuine fight after and got stabbed
Could Derren hypothetically be sued?

My word that's a niche joke!

You don;t many people with surnames of days of the week in the UK do you?

My wife knows someone called Thursby. I suggested to my wife that this woman should change her name to Trudy Wendy Thursby.

There was of course Joe Friday in Dragnet (ask Mandrake), but that's another US show (and fictional too). You do see Munday as a name, but it's rare.

Lord Freddie, I did wonder about the risks of making someone a bit too confident, but I suspect that, off camera, they explained that getting involved in a real fight could be dangerous. I think the main point of the staged pub brawl was to help the guy (whose name escapes me) overcome the guilt he felt at running away from a previous situation.

Last year Derren condemned scam faith healers. Now he's become one.

I watched it and enjoyed it.

He made some great points about faith and it wasn't typical god bashing. As far as illusions go, It wasn't his best work. But it was good TV IMHO. There was less of a buzz around the non magi forums this week. So maybe the viewing public are less interested in this stuff.

I found it a bit boring. There were a few interesting psychological snippets in the show, but it felt padded out, and there was quite a bit of rehashed material from other shows. That's probably OK if you haven't seen those other programmes (Messiah and Séance in particular).

I also dislike the false logic he uses to make points. Another reason why people might not be happy to get up and stab a photo is because they don't want to be the centre of attention in a room full of people. The explanation Derren gave almost certainly accounts for some of it, but ignoring other possibilities weakens the alleged scientific basis for other assertions. With minimal tricks and iffy science, what's left other than a smattering of showmanship?

It's odd, but for both of these two part shows, I have liked the first episode, but found the second dull.

I saw his zombie one, and quite enjoyed it - I'll have to check out Fear and Faith when I get the chance.
