Don't miss it!

Postby Mandrake » Aug 6th, '13, 10:32

The month of August sees an event which hasn’t happened for over 6,000 years and won’t happen again for at least 200 years – don’t miss it!

The planet Mars will be at a distance of less than 35 million miles from Earth and, towards the end of this month will appear to be as big as a full moon to the naked eye – none of us will live to see this again – ever!

Also this month we have the Perseids meteor shower, peak activity August 12th - always good for some celestial fireworks!

Quite probably! The email I received didn't say which year they were talking about so I assumed it to be this year. Also, I may have copied the details over wrong but Mars being as big as a full moon does seem a wee bit unlikely.
