Postby Oliver Tabor » Sep 12th, '13, 12:48

West End Magic returns to the Leicester Square Theatre on Sunday September 22nd with a family friendly show bringing you some of the most exciting names in magic and variety in the UK. This show will feature illusion, mind magic, clever switches, dangerous knife juggling, comedy magic and some very Tommy Cooperesque compering.

Oliver Tabor, award winning magician performs his extraordinary illusions, where objects change form and shape in his hands and he presents grand illusions that might leave you wondering whether reality really can be bent and manipulated in this mans hands. Oliver has made history by winning the top 4 awards for stage magic at the International Brotherhood of Magicians British Ring convention in Buxton last week, these prestigious awards have never been won all at once in the same competition.

Morgan and West the time travelling victorian magicians move people from place to place in unpredictable and unbelievable ways whilst Mat Riccardo, comedy Juggler extraordinaire, juggles, throws and plays with objects that ought not to be juggled, thrown or, under any circumstance, played with! Mat will also be pulling a cloth from a fully laden table and replacing it AND NOTHING WILL MOVE!

Christian Lee will compere all proceedings and will perform the best hand stab routine seen around.

About West End Magic

West End Magic began in 2007 at the Albany Theatre in Deptford and was born from a young magicians club whose members met weekly at Davenports magic shop for 15 years creating card tricks and perfecting illusions, they called themselves the Demon Club. They would create shows to perform to the public and to the Magic Circle, the club disbanded in 1997 then 10 years later some of the original members re-formed for A Night of Magic in 2007 which then became West End Magic which now has a permanent home at the Leicester Square Theatre, a stones throw from the theatres which used to house Houdini, and Chung Ling Soo in the early 1900’s during magic’s golden heyday.

With Oliver Tabor:

Oliver’s award winning and critically acclaimed dove act is pure theatrical artistry. A master manipulator he makes cards, doves and violins appear as if from thin air. This graceful and visually stunning physical performer is truly original and is one of the UK’s top illusionists.

Last week Oliver competed against 10 other magicians from around the UK in the International Brotherhood of Magicians British Ring convention performing a ten minute act. Oliver then proceeded to make history by winning every award on offer! He was first presented with the Conventioneers Trophy for the most original act and the Ditta Shield for the best Manipulation (sleight-of-hand). Following the distribution of 3rd and 2nd places to the other competitors, Oliver was then awarded with 1st place Overall Winner and a cheque for £500. Following these three awards, he was then presented with the prestigious British Ring Shield for the most Outstanding Act and Overall Winner, this was first awarded back in 1938 and is only awarded if the standard of a performance is of exceptionally high value.
