I've been thinking lately about showreels. I remember someone on here (can't recall who) saying that whilst videos are sometimes used to select you, they can also be used to DESELECT you. So if you put out a video that is amateurish etc then you may lose out to a less able magician with better marketing skills. A lot of the videos I have are done using camcorders whilst out and about. The quality is therefore lacking and professional videographers can be expensive.

Anyway, I thought I'd do something a bit different (and cheaper) and I've got my showreel animated. The animation is done professionally but the wording and flow etc are mine. The style/colour/theme are all based around my website. I wanted the showreel to basically be an advert that I can send to people to market myself, and also it's what will be on the landing page of my site.

It's a bit different - just like me - so let me know what you think!

Looks good to me. As others have said it is different and says exactly who you are and what you do. What else could you ask from a promo video?

Not only is it different, it is obviously done to a high professional standard rather than something thrown together. Because of this it will impress. It screams professional attitude. I hope it gets you plenty of inquiries.
