Clarity Box - Performed

Postby Lee Smith » Nov 26th, '13, 16:37

There has been a lot of talk about this product on here recently. But I have not seen any footage of it anywhere?
I managed to get a quick (nothing special) performance of it today that shows it off in a real world setting.

This was filmed by Luke Clough (a member here) on one of are regular magic catch up's (beer and burgers) lol

This is the wonderful Clarity Box from David Regal.

Nice! I've been wanting to see an application of it and it's actually more convincing than I'd imagined! :)

The illusion is perfect, it looks a million times better in actual live performance as well.

I've heard a few good things about this item, looks pretty good to me. The see through box is ideal.

Great stuff Mate,

Steve

I've heard people comment it's too perfect, so they've put a silk in to obscure the card. I .. don't understand the thinking entirely but I can see how that'd also be a very strong effect.

I don't think I would do it that way as might take away from the illusion a bit? Maybe just my thinking? Sure it will work for others tho. I like the idea of putting other objects in the box tho. Like coins (like a money box) then they would be tipped out along with the card.

I think a magician watching it will immediately think through several solutions and that obfuscation like this is good for layering confusion on them, but yeah - I think for the public it's a great illusion already and who cares how it's done!

Its like so many other tricks and I am guilty of over complicating things myself. With this the beauty of it is the simplicity of the method and the look of the box.

Top marks to David Regal for this. I just wish I had thought of it.
