Hey there...

Hey,

I'm Chris, 26 years old and I've recently started magic.

I haven't been doing it long, pushing about 2 months now, but i am really enjoying it.

I'm finding the hardest part is trying not to rush ahead (a concept of which I'm failing currently)
I keep trying to move onto the next thing without mastering the first thing.

I'm reading The Royal Road to Card Magic at the moment, which is very helpful. However, watching people do the move, is easier for me to grasp the concept behind it.

I'm from a small town, and as far as I am aware, there are no magicians here that I can use a resource and pick their brains to help me improve my techniques.

So if anyone can offer any insight, and maybe advice into what should and shouldn't do to avoid bad habits, then please let me know.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys and gals!

Welcome along Chris.. The royal road to magic is a great book to start your journey.. Keep it nice and simple at first, and try not to learn too much, too fast.. Also try and make your magic your own, instead of watching to many video's on youtube, and picking up other people styles and habits.. I find a good book is better in the early stage of your magical path.. Good luck.

Thanks guys.

Currently working on the basics (part one of the Royal Road)

Don't want to progress too quickly and get bogged down. Its already quite tough.

Thanks for the welcomes!
