Well, last week I did a gig and was performing for quite a difficult, but fun table. There was a macho man there who had muscles from Brussels and his girlfriend, both of whom were difficult to please at the start but ended up being my best spectators. Not uncommon.

I knocked them out and got excellent reactions. A few minutes later a young woman from the other side of the table came up to me with her arm around me and said ''Listen, my husband is on the other side of the table over there and he thinks he knows how your doing everything. Can you please go over to him and prove him wrong, he's doing my head in''

Instantly i thought 'uh oh challenge time'. I'm not the keenest on these situations but they usually work out in my favour with everyone walking away smiling. So I head over to do folded card in mouth routine.He selected his card and returned it. As I turned the deck face up to do a MCF, I tried to get everyone to look at me for misdirection. He was absolutely burning the deck when he exclaims ''THERE I SAW WHAT YOU DONE, YOU LOOKED AT THE CARD''. At this point i hadnt done anything so I knew the type he was (knows everything about nothing)

As he said this he looked me in the eye and i executed the move. Meanwhile all his friends and wife were telling him to shut up and that he didnt know what he was talking about-quite true actually.So i was full in control and shoved the deck in my mouth, took it out and left one card hanging off my lips.''Was this it?'' I asked.I cant even describe how disappointed everyone was when I apparently fecked it up. Meanwhile the know-it-all had a smug look on his face.BANG!! I coughed his card up out of my mouth folded up.

I cannot describe the reaction, it was one of the most insane reactions I've ever got and I'm at this a very long time. His wife was hugging me, everyone absolutely in bits shouting laughing and nudging the skeptic. His wife was slagging him to pieces. Even he accepted defeat as I shook his hand. I tried my best to do it in a way that wouldnt make him feel foolish by laughing with him. She shook my hand back laughing with everyone else and said '' That was f@!$ing incredible''.

No other hobby could give you this satisfaction. Everybody was so happy. It was absolutely remarkable. I was absolutely buzzing afterwards.
