Using Latex to Make Flap Cards

Postby Jayrd1290 » Sep 21st, '14, 19:19

I'm in the process of experimenting with flaps and variations of flap cards and I have been having some trouble with using latex as my spring.
What is the best way to stick down the latex so it is secure (double stick tape always seems to come loose)?
The latex being stuck down has to be fairly small for what I am creating (covers a side of a corner of the border of a bicycle card) and I can't think of anything hold it down with.
It will be sandwiched between two things if that makes any difference.
Any ideas?

ok.. the ONLY way you can stick latex to cards, is by using super glue. Latex adhesives will peel off, and the flap wont work, and impact glues, ( evostick, uhu ect) will perish the rubber almost instantly. Cyano acrylate adhesives, ( Super glues) don't. they crystallise over a number of years, but they do not effect the rubber.
Obviously, take care when using it, but trust me.. I sold the stuff for well over 20 years, and have made up flap cards myself.
