ET forum?

Postby psymon » Feb 13th, '15, 08:39

After a very long wait, I'm talking about 7-8 years... I've finally obtained an ET (ET + to be more specific).. and I'm actually pretty impressed with it so far to be honest, more powerful than I was expecting.

now, I recall there being a secret forum somewhere on the internet dedicated to this thing and basically, as long as you could prove to an existing member that you actually have one, you could join... or something like that.

does that still exist?... or at least something like it?

I mean I've already come up with quite a few uses for it myself, but I'd really like to talk ideas with a community specifically dedicated to this device.

even a forum with a sub-forum dedicated to it would do, assuming I didn't have to buy it from that specific site.

and the P.E.T.S setup, I haven't been able to find any info on that at all, if someone could maybe point me in the right direction on that matter via PM, it would be much appreciated, I can answer any question you'd need to prove I own it if need be.

guess I should add, the link to said secret forum used to be on the bottom of the instruction booklet, now you get a link to the cafe...

I did manage to find a link to the original secret forum, but it appears to be gone or broken, just get a 'server not found' screen when I click on the link.

if it is indeed gone, that is truly depressing.. I've been hoping to see what that forum had to offer pretty much since I knew ET even existed :(

Talk English and we might be able to help. What is an ET+ and a PETS setup?

oh c'mon... you mean you don't know?

I thought we had to talk in code around here due to risk of exposure...

electric touch +

and the P.E.T.S. setup.. an alternative setup for the device, different from the ones taught on the DVD ET comes with.

If you put electric touch into the Search function above you'll find links to threads discussing this items at some length. If I remember right, the overall impression wasn't all that good and centred on querying the wisdom of subjecting any volunteer to an unexpected 'shock'.

If I had known I wouldn't have asked. Sometimes we become too paranoid over secrecy.

there's a lot more to it than that... I honestly wouldn't be doing much shocking of other people.

running a pin or nail just above a concrete floor/sidewalk creates a pretty nifty and visible arc in dim lighting and a cool hissing noise.

you can light florescent light bulbs, bend a stream of water, have sand dance around under your finger tips and a bunch of other stuff... and this is what I'd like to discuss, that secret forum I mentioned apparently had a large wealth of ideas.

mix that with some patter about how you accidentally electrocuted yourself while changing a light bulb and now you can do all these strange things, which you demonstrate right before you move onto some PK effects and you've got yourself one hell of a convincer...

it's definitely not for everyone, but I will definitely be putting it to good use, at least once I figure out this P.E.T.S. setup anyway.

Have you actually put it to use yet. In front of people?

actually yes, in fact it was my buddy who's an electrician, and also happens to be somewhat well versed in the art of magic.

we were outside on my front step having a smoke, I said to him "I was hoping maybe you could shed some light on something for me since you're an electrician"

"I'll try, what's up?.."

"well, I was trying to fix my furnace and forgot to turn off the main switch and I ended up getting a pretty bad jolt... I'm allright, but now.. I don't know, it's weird, strange things have been happening."...

"well lets go take a look at it"...

"no, the furnace is fine, it's me"..

"huh?"..

'here let me show you something"

I grabbed a nail lying near by and created a steady arc to the concrete with it, along with that hissing noise... his reaction was gold.. he didn't say anything, but the silence and the look on his face said it all!

I brought him back inside and proceeded to bend a stream of water, caused my baby monitor and an old radio to 'fuzz out' by waving my hand near it, which he couldn't reproduce no matter how hard he tried... being an electrician, he of course knew these type things happen a result of static electricity, but he actually bought my patter about the electrocution, for awhile anyway.

"that's absolutely insane!.. out of all my years being an electrician I can't say I've ever seen, or heard of anything like this!.. WOW.. "

the smirk on my face kinda gave away the fact I was up to my old tricks again (we've known each other for over 20 years, he knows when I'm up to shenanigans), but he was still baffled as to how exactly I was charging myself.. eventually after a few beers, it dawned on him... "you finally bought that device didn't you!.. electric touch or something it was called right?"

we had talked about it a few years back... he was looking to buy a new effect and I mentioned it/discussed it with him... he got a good chuckle, "you really had me there for awhile, I was honestly perplexed!"

so basically, it fooled an electrician who has a general idea of how most magic works and actually performs a few doozers himself... I think that's a win.

now had he been someone who isn't in the 'know'... I would have proceeded to move some stuff around/did some levitations with my M5 and IT, but he already owns and uses both.

this was my first and only time using it with anyone so far.. the batteries are already on their last legs so I'm kinda waiting until I can track some down before I practice on a few other people I have in mind... and also a better set up, I'm using the temporary setup while I get a better feel for the device and what it can do, but it would be impractical to walk around for any amount of time with that setup really... need some appropriate footwear as well, all I own at the moment is a pair of $500 steel toe work boots, I'm not willing to permanently alter those.

I can't wait to take this thing out to the outdoor hippy festival coming up in spring
