Cold Reading resources in French

Postby MiKo » May 28th, '15, 13:59

A fellow magician at my local magic club has asked me for material about cold reading in French. He is particularly looking for introductory material, especially concerned with the use of cold reading in magic. He has read a translated book by Richard Webster, and didn't like it because he said it was too focused on the economic aspect of the thing.

Any suggestion, apart from asking Paul Voodini to translate his work ;) ? To me the best thing would be material written by French authors, but I guess that translations will have to do.

Might be worth contacting some French magic shops to see if they know of works in French. Try http://www.mayette.com/#_=_ as that's supposed to be one of the oldest magic shops on the planet.

I am amused at the expression "economic aspect of things". That to me is the most important aspect of the whole thing. Can this chap speak English? If he can then perhaps a DVD rather than a book might be ideal. I have one particular expert in mind whom I have admired my entire life in these matters.

Well, not everyone feels the same.

Anyway yes: a video would do, but no he does not speak English. So unless you convince this expert, whom I'm sure you know personally and quite well, to translate his work, I'm afraid it will not work.

Alas the expert in question does not speak French. But then that is why we won at Waterloo.
