Hey folks,

Don't you just hate it when you find a good busy looking forum, post a question on it looking for some nice tasty advice from the experts, and........the tumble weed blows and blows.
You consider whether you set the 'mail me' function so you go back and check, and sure enough it's on and you've had plenty of views and no reply.

You've had a quick scan and your question hasn't been answered elsewhere in the recent passed but plenty of other similar ish ones have, but they don't tell you what you want.

Grrrrr.

Moan over :)

though we here are all omnipotent, sometimes we just don't know and unlike other forums wont just fob you off with faff and hyperbola.
but if it helps I think your warp coils are out of phase. :D

That is because nobody knows much about magic except me. However, try asking now.

Haha, thanks guys, I was just moaning about a computer topic I posted on a couple of different computer forums...

Thanks Magicdiscoman, I checked the warp coils and what do you know! They were out of phase...All sorted now with my trusty wrench and chisel :D

If it were a magic query I'd have probably posted it on the general board, then felt silly and either answered it myself for clarity and a lack of embaressment or edited it to make it needlessly far more complex, probably clouded the question beyond reason and usefulness thus further ruining the already slim chance of a useful answer then deleted it if that were an option or just run away and hope a mod moved it to the tumbleweed board under the front mat real quick :D

That is because nobody knows much about magic except me

Thanks Mark, I'll bare that in mind next time I have a question so I can just go direct to the source :D

And just for pure interest, or not;

I was just wondering if the AMD FX8350 is in fact a Piledriver as I've read in a few places, or as amazon describe it a Bulldozer. I think the former but feel free to clarify. I was also just wondering about cooling it off, and thought I'd go water cooled. I've since discovered that in fact your average stock CPU cooler (yes it comes with a cooler in the box too) will be fine if you're not overclocking. That seems pretty obvious now so why worry, but hey I'd like the option so I'm going liquid. I think I've decided which one too but again if you've got any legendary insight and advice to share......

And no that's not how I worded it elsewhere, I just put it in quotes to look cool ;)

Jolly good. Alas I am a magic genius rather than a computer genius so I haven't the slightest idea of what you are talking about. It may as well have been written in Sanscrit for all I know. And I don't even know what Sanscrit is anyway.

However, the good news is now that I have advised you to post your question I bet somebody else will be able to provide the answer before the day is out.

All it needs is the little fuss I am always able to provoke. When you receive the answer very shortly it will prove that I am a genius after all.

I'm sorry, I am incredibly immature and I can't get past Piledriver.

Well hopefully I'll own a pretty big one soon and be able to put it to good use, assuming everything goes ok when I stick it in...

Ah Mandrake, perhaps you can shed light on whether you water-cool yours after vigerous use? It does seem to be the way ahead.

the stock cooler is more than adequate for cooling a computer processor but you can invest in a fancier looking one that may knock a few degrees off and lights up but at the end of the day unless you intend to show your computer off like a mussel car then it wont make much of a difference for the cost.

same with water cooling it can be less noisy because of bigger fans on the cooler and you can get some cool looking heat reactive fluids but after awhile you'll forget all about how great it looks as you play the next game, if you want to spend some money on cooling gear then go for it just remember putting go faster stripes on your car wont make it any more aerodynamic or infract cooler. :)

Ha, thanks magicdiscoman! As it happens yes it is one of 'those' machines. In so much as I've invested in a black and red motherboard, my case has a massive window on the appropriate side showing it all off and the memory is of course colour coordinated :D

iBy public oppinion so far it looks amazingly cool whether you're into that kind of thing or not. No flashy lights as yet, I don't really go in for them. And my badboy Piledriver just arrived which is the last bit required for now. Cross your fingers for me whilst I shove it in and hope for the best :D

Magicdiscoman wrote:...a computer processor...

Ahh good, I'm glad we cleared that up :)

Yes the cooler that it came with looks pretty mean, I think I may be happy for now at least...
