Does this exist?

Postby neil_the_newbie » Sep 3rd, '15, 15:23

I'm looking to purchase a coin purse that will allow me to cleanly place a coin in it and secretly st**l it. It would be even better if I could show the purse with a d*******e coin inside. Is such a coin purse available out there before I go all Blue Peter and attempt to make my own? Its really a purse I'm looking for rather than using an alternative method.
Thank you in advance for any help on this.

Do you need a special purse? Could you pretend to put the coin in but really just palm it?

There are purses available in which the bottom opens with a squeeze - the same feature which is the opening on some coin pouches.
A piece of fine fishing line attached to a coin, sown half way down inside the purse would make a convincing decoy and would remain inside the purse as the real one was stolen. The dup could even be shook while displaying it inside.

If the coin doesn't really have to appear loose it could simply be glued on one side to the bottom corner.

Or you could do a one handed switch and drop the dup into the purse (or do the switch directly into the purse), if your routine allows it. That way any purse could be used.

Thank you both for your advice. Jim - "There are purses available in which the bottom opens with a squeeze". Could you include a link please? Are these normal or gaffed?

Here is one. A slightly different shape to the one I saw but the same idea -

There was a gimmicked version of the idea that came out a few years ago but I can't remember the name of it - perhaps someone else will. The bottom could open (as above) but the purse also had an "attractive" side which could be used for some nice ideas/displays, and the hands could be shown empy apart from the purse. I think it had more of a traditional purse look compared to the one above, but it's a while since I've seen it.

That's virtually what I am looking for. Thank you! If only they did it like a purse...

I think what I'm looking for might be a Larry Becker Coin Purse. But I don't think they make them anymore.
