Hi Ellis,

No this will not work with coin unique.
It needs to be a split/clone coin. RSVP magic and Merlins of Wakefield stock the perfect coins for this. Its an awesome effect and the better the coin the better it looks.

£2 clone coin and a penny look best.

Lee.

This is well worth the investment and would be perfect for any close-up magic set

Hey Ellis, I don't see why you couldn't perform a version of 'bag for life' with a coin unique as there would be one coin appearing to penetrate the bag, but there is another 'item' out there like the clone coin (different name) that is usually used for the bag for life type effect, but the up side to using this other item is that you can have a large coin and small coin in the same bag and the larger coin would be the one to penetrate (get your head around that) whereas with a coin unique or similar item it would be the smaller coin that would have to penetrate and although it would still look great, I don think it has the impact that the other item would give and trust me I own one of the other items and I can vouch for the awesomeness that it creates!!

if any of you are interested, there is a company on ebay that deals with g*******d items (ahem, if ya know what I mean!) and they have brilliantly made bits and bobs for the coin magician, I think they have this particular item in 2p, 10p, £1 and £2 and I can solidly recommend them, their items are incredibly well made and they are a joy to do business with and to add the magic cherry to the top, their stuff is not expensive at all!!!!! They are called 'coinunique' and do quite a few different pieces, so get in there whilst you can and before they hike the prices up!!!

I have both their 10p and £2 coins and they are second to none, I even fooled myself when opening the package to receive the 10p coin and tried to tip the coin out of the bag that comes with the coin (yes they even gave you a bag to get started, and those of you who know the item will understand lol) and I already knew what the item was and what it did, so that is saying a lot when you can have the thing mere inches from your face and still not realise!!!

I also own shells to use with both of those coins and the amount of effects that you can do with them is astounding, the bag for life is just the start, you can do some really good coins across type effects and even almost fool yourself, so take my advice and get yourself one of these great coins (and maybe a certain dvd by craig petty called s***t happens)

hope this helps,

Ben.

if you want to get the most from this gimmick then you can't go far wrong than looking at split happens by graig petty, he'll teach you coins across, hanging coins and many others.
imagine being able to start with one coin and still be "one ahead" at the start.
how about showing two coins, count them audibly into one hand yet still without any moves be able to vanish one coin to an impossible location.

worth checking it out
