Farlsborough, Dat, Replicant, Ted, Tomo

Postby Le Petit Bateleur » Jul 20th, '16, 20:54

I always enjoy reading posts from the "old timers" on this forum - Mandrake, Lady of Mystery, Mark Lewis etc...

But I miss some of the guys who used to post when I joined - Farlsborough, Dat, Replicant, Ted, Tomo...

Do you know what happened to them? I know Farlsborough got his medical degree, I presume he his very busy with his profession. What about the other ones?

:D

Like I said on another thread, it's gone very quiet on here recently.
Maybe they've just moved on and have other things to do :(

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Try emailing or PMing them and see what responses you get.

It seems TM isn't especially active at the moment to be honest. :(
I still read here but with so few new posts it's seldom that I feel moved to comment anything. Perhaps the old school TM'ers feel the same way? Hopefully if things pick up here again we'll see more of the old faces back.
Not sure what Tomo is up too, the subversive circuits website is shut down it seems.

Sadly any discussion board is only as good as the topics and subjects posted and relies on regular 'traffic' to keep the flow going. Once things go quiet it takes considerable time to pick up again so perhaps the answer is to actively post and see what reactions take place?

Any suggestions as to what might help revitalise things? Not everything is possible but your thoughts and ideas will be appreciated!

Tomo, Abraxus and a few others started posting more on some of the private mentalist's forums a while back. I've pretty much stopped visiting those now so I don't really know what any of them are up to.

They are probably all on Facebook now! That is where everyone including me is to be found nowadays. Which is ironic because I hate Facebook with a passion!

Unfortunately it looks like Facebook is leading to forums being less and less relevant. It's a shame because force book is so fleeting compared to forums.

I'm probably a very biased old fogey but I just don't trust FB and similar enterprises to be secure and I'm quite sure any data put on is used in all sorts of ways which we may not necessarily choose. I get the bit about using such data to ensure any advertising is tailored more specifically to the user but even so I really don't like the principle at all! The high level of profits from advertising and the sums for which such sites are bought and sold are horrendously obscene. Either that or I'm just jealous!

(You can all be assured that TM doesn't use/sell/pass on any personal details at all! :D )

I've never gotten on with Facebook as a replacement for these sorts of groups, it's great for keeping in touch with friends but I'd much rather a friendly forum that I can browse through as I like for talking magic.
