Carrying Around I.T.

Postby DaveWise » Oct 4th, '16, 19:56

Any suggestions on ways to carry around a bit of I.T. for quick access, set-up and use? I've seen retractable dispensers online but they have pretty mixed reviews.

Thanks,
David

I.T. is a pain in the bottom no matter what. You are far better off without it, you will learn to cuss a little less, stress level goes way down. Really there is no upside to I.T. I like the turantula. Yes it is finicky especially when you first get it, yes things tangle up. Yes you have to maintain it, yes it requires a battery. But once you get passed all that it really is a great tool for IT. The Boss or any of the Boss's replica's you can't really lock to the desired length. With the Turantula you can, and then when you are done it zips away. It really all depends on what you wish to do with the IT. My fav is the Fearson hook up for levitations as in Steve Fearsons floating cig. I don't float a cig with it but it is by far the best hook up for a levitation, except you have to walk around with it and its a pain. With the Turantula you can just hook it up when you need it, finish the trick and 'zip' it goes away and you can hook it up again a second later if need be.

But be warned, look back to my first part. IT is a pain in the bottom in every sense of the word.

What are you thinking of doing with the IT? I lost patience with IT and reels, more trouble than they're worth half the time. I'm a big fan of loops though, one around each wrist and you'll be set for an evening.

@Lady of Mystery regarding the loops, do you make your own or do you purchase them? How many uses do you get our of a loop before it breaks?

Can I just mention that there are several previous threads (no pun intended!) on this topic which might be of help to those who want to learn more - the Search function up there on the right will find them for you.

You will also see reference to the STELTH system invented by one time TM Mod Seige, aka Chris Jones, which shows a great way of making a jig which enables you to make your own loops at a fraction of the cost. Although the commercial version has long been unavailable, the PDF of the DIY version is still available - PM me with your email address and I'll send a copy.

Thanks, Mandrake. I should probably have done a search before posting.

No worries, Dave, the Search system has been a bit fragile at times but the Google search aspect is quite good. We've probably covered most topics several times over the years and it was hoped that we could actively consolidate separate threads on a common theme. Sadly this proved to be far too time consuming so the nuggets of info are all over the place and folks have to go hunt 'em down - a bit like an Indiana Jones plot :D !
