Inevitably someone has brought out the half size version of the Black Tigers and it's our old friends, cards4magic.co.uk - check out http://www.cards4magic.co.uk/acatalog/N ... ST_IN.html and scroll down a ways. At £7.00 a deck they're not cheap, the quality is nothing like the full size versions as they seem to be just printed card, you don't get the twisted Ace or the white faced 3C and, so far, they only offer the white pipped versions. Having said all that, I like them a lot and they'll come in handy for diminishing card effects, for small scale card tricks and so on. I'm planning on turning one deck into a stripper deck for starters!

I was just wondering.....how many of you actually use the black deck regularly? I stopped using black decks at all...I think now I prefer reg Bikes and Tallys.

Having said that though. Viper looks cool.... :D

i got my first tigers 2 weeks ago. I got so much attention :P

I have blackened the edges with a sharpie, thanks for the tip :)

Colouring say the ace through king of diamonds in the white deck red with a water soluble pen and riffle through those by the top edge, it looks like that are gaining their red colour, then you can just use a deck switch.

they sure are, but like the tigers the contrast is not strong for the 'black' suits (the red ones are red, like the second edition tigers) so effects need to be chosen so as not show this up. I performed a truimph effect using the spades and the contrast with the backs was not really strong enough.

I have found that the tigers and the vipers handle beautifully, nice fans and easy elmsleys, definately worth getting if just for your own pleasure (oh er missus)

Just received a batch and am hugely disappointed by the quality - very rough edges - they really look cr*p. The ghost deck is much better but I'm amazed by the poor quality and sandpaper-like edges - really bad.

I’d certainly avoid getting these again – amusingly, first reaction I got was “hey, this is a trick deck…” :? so back to basics!

I love my tigers.
People always comment on how good they look.
And in fact I have only ever had one person remark that they could be a trick deck so I let them shuffle them to their hearts content, then proceeded to biddle them to baffledom

Oh, and I finally got round to blacking the edges with a sharpie a couple of days ago....damn they looks the mutts nuts now!!!!!
as poster said above, lovely tip that one, cheers whoever suggested it.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

Love my black tigers and now they seem to be the only cards i buy. They just handle so well. I never blacked the edges but after reading that tip i will. A few people have commented on them as if they were a trick deck but after letting them examine and shuffle them they were happy enough. I really like them but am considering bulk ordering tally ho decks to practice/destroy and keep my tigers for performing.

Just spent the last 2 hours at work blackening the edges inbetween calls.. man they look awesome now..!!

One guy sitting next to me said they look like cards the devil would play poker with!! I did go over a couple of the edges by mistake but you really cant see it and it still fan and dribbles like a dream...

I might now blacken the edges of my black tiger invisble deck.. that should look mighty scary when performing!!

That's a MUST if you've done the normal deck as any deck swap will stick out like a sore thumb!

After almost ten years since the last post on this thread (!!!) Bumpety Bump!

If anyone wants to do routines which need the Black Tiger faces then check out one of my favourite magic suppliers - The Works! For £1 a deck you can get black faced cards, albeit with totally non-Bike backs of course and they're bridge size rather than Poker size. The link is http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/new-gifts/b ... 2089194489 . I happened to be in our local Works today and bought two decks on impulse so now I'm searching the back issues and illegible notes I made ten years ago to see if there's any way they can be used  !

Wow ! Remember buying a deck of these.. Everybody went mad for them.. I still have them somewhere. Sadly a bit scuffed but still look nice.
