Packet Trick with Selection

Postby FTHO » Mar 25th, '17, 21:26

Hello,

I have a presentation I'd like to try and use, but it will require me to do 2 tricks. The first trick is all sorted. But the second trick has a couple of specifications.

1. It needs to be a packet trick.
2. It needs to have a surprise ending of the selected card from the first trick showing up.
3. It ideally needs to end clean.

I'm just looking to collect ideas of packet tricks which could be entertaining in itself and then have a surprise ending of the selection from the first trick.

So far I have:
Ambitious Classic
Using the chosen card from trick 1 as the extra card.

Hofzinsers Aces
But doing it as a twisting the aces effect with the surprise ending of the last ace turning into the selection from trick 1.

Can anyone suggest any alternatives?

Thanks,

Sam

I've also considered doing the following:

Two Card Transposition
And then after the initial transposition do it again, but somehow switch in the original selection.

3 Card Monte
Do a monte routine but somehow switch the ace for the selection before the last phase.

I don't have a method for either of the above. Especially not one which will allow me to end clean.

I also want to be handling just the cards in play... place the deck away or on the table and just use a small packet for the second trick.

This'n'that? There's a version in Marc Lemezma's card book, also it's all over YouTube.

Not just any monte, Use colour monte, or the method for colour monte. When you ask them what card is left in your hand it is now the card from the previous trick and you are clean. Drop the whole thing in their hands and walk away kind of clean. If you don't have the method for colour Monte, then buy the packet trick. it is cheap and you will use it the rest of your life. It is one of my go to effects.

Oh, I LOVE this idea!

I'm a big fan of Colour Monte, and the idea of using it to reveal a card from something done previously has real potential! And you do end up totally clean, and everything is examinable - making it even more baffling.

Has anyone done this? Or is it stretching Colour Monte too far? It's a brilliant routine on its own, and I wonder if maybe this extra twist would take things too far.

But it's definitely something worth considering, and in theory I love the concept that is being suggested here.
