Hey folks. Not posted for a while, due to work load in the Laboratory. I know a few on here know about my recent disaster i had with the idiot drunk driver.. But time has passed and my health is now 95% better. 8) So in March, i have decided to travel to the Philippines with a couple of work colleges, and help a few people with everyday problems etc. ?? Sadly most of the Philippines, is 3rd world poverty level, but a nice country on the whole, and a place I've always wanted to visit... Sadly only there for 30 days, but will make what i can with this time, and hope i can help in anyway with basic volunteering... I will be teaming up with a established organization, who deal with everyday problems in this fantastic country.. Hopefully will be performing some magic for whoever can put up with my tricks.
Will hopefully be making a few short video's of my experience, so may post some magic here on TM.
Be safe folks.
Regards Garry. :D

That sounds amazing, you'll have a fantastic time I'm sure!

I don't know what the Philippines is like but if it's anything like the poorer areas of North Africa and the Middle East, one little tip is to raid the charity shops for anything Disney related before you go. Hand those out and you'll really be able to make some local children's day. :)

I remember once hitting a stalemate when haggling over a silver teapot in a market in Algeria. Neither of us would budge any further but the eventual deal clincher was a Lion King purse that I'd paid about 50p for because the stall holder's daughter loved 'Le Roi Lion' :D

Thanks Becky, yes your right, anything here we take for granted, and can get so easy, is like gold dust to the kids over there, where, the weekly wage is around, 250 peso, which is about £ 6.. I have been advised by a few locals who are running the project to bring as much learning/Educational, materials, like school books, English, Maths, Geography etc, which will help gratefully.. So will probably pay a visit to the pound store and buy every book for Children's education they have.
And maybe do some haggling when i am there. 8)

Afternoon folks. Back in august, see above post ? I mentioned about my planned trip to the Philippines. Well, Ive recently returned and experienced the amazing destination. Really had a ball, and got to meet some fantastic people, and also perform some magic to a lot of poor people who probably have never seen anyone that performs magic before etc. 8)
sadly my smart phone was stolen the last week of my holiday, and all my video blogs and performing was on the phone   Which is a shame really, because had lots of memories and photos that i will never get back. Oh well !!! that's the downside of traveling to a third world country.. But all is not lost, i have the memories in my mind, but not sure how long they will last ?? Still had a amazing 5 weeks, so not too down.. Take care folks. :)
