Is this just too good to be true...?

Postby Johnny Wizz » Oct 13th, '19, 12:29

Hi All,

I haven't been on the site for some time but I know that I will get an answer to this conundrum here.

I have an acquaintance who likes to watch magic but is ready to believe anything he is told. (Perfect spectator??)

This video is one that he has come up with and which he really believes is a genuine trick. I cannot see how it could be done without a group of stooges.

Has anyone come across this at any time and if so can you reference it for me?

Thanks

If this is genuine, I'd also love to know where to learn this .... I'm guessing it's stooges ....

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I am sure it is stooges and he just told each person what card to name for the purpose of filming and just before the camera started. I will tell you how I know. If it wasn't stooged the reactions would have been FAR stronger getting better and better every time. The reaction was far too lukewarm to be genuine although a few people played along. I got a vibe that a few of them wished he would go away though!

Thanks both. I couldn't see any w this was possible and thank you Mark for your point. If that trick was real people should have been jumping up and down, not looking fed up!

Well, of course I do psychic readings. You pick up on the slightest thing when you do that. However, I was slightly puzzled by the fact that the deck was shuffled. However, on going back over the video I noticed that only one guy shuffled the deck. The first guy. I wonder if he was another magician who was in on the trick. If so he knew how to do a false shuffle. Just speculation on my part but I suspect accurate speculation.

It doesn't look like a false shuffle, but if you look at the guy who shuffles, he looks at the camera twice, just before the deck goes out of shot. It's as if he's looking for confirmation from the camera man that the cards are now out of sight of the camera and he can switch decks to a previously stacked one .... just my twopenneth :)

There's a conveniently placed napkin on the table.
