Hello again Luke

It is a very visual trick, but does require a bit of modification to the can itself before you show it. What you buy are just instructions... it works with any can.

Would I buy it... Probably, if I wanted to use it as a street magician. If you work inside... then probably not.

Hope this helps... Tony

The only other thing to add, is that the sales hype would seem to suggest the can itself goes from being virtually completely crushed to new. This isn't exactly accurate. The reality is you make a slightly "squeezed" can pop back to its original shape, then the can appears to seal itself so you can open it and pour.

I bought Healed & Sealed last year and enjoy performing it - simple (like me) but effective (not like me!) and I thought it well worth the price.

In one of my many idle moments I was surfing through the emagic tricks catalogue and found: http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=4085
which contains three 'Blaine' type tricks including one called 'The Uncanny' which bears a very strong descriptive resemblance. Does anyone know if it's the same routine under another name or if it's a different working?

As far as I'm aware, they are the same. Anders Moden's version was merely a definitive version of an older effect.

The Uncanny will just be another variation.

There is really only one way you can perform this effect, without elaborate compressed air rigs and aluminium re-sealing and moulding.

So, as Sherlock Holmes said:
"When you have eliminated the impossible, that which remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

Unfortunately, this dispells many magical theories, and therefore is scientific (i.e. anything non-logical and physically impossible MUST be real magic)

But real magic this is NOT. And like I said, you can figure most tricks out by ruling out the impossible first, as opposed to trying to find the actual solution.

In this case, it is IMPOSSIBLE that a regular soft drinks can can re-fill itself, and almost impossible (without some gaffs) that the can will re-seal itself.

There really is only one solution, folks. But to give the secret away would break a few rules (not to mention laws, I think).

Personally, i love the trick but have spent lots of money on cans which is time wasting and can put a hole in your pocket at first.
Apart from the obvious re-use of cans this trick is definately worth having in your repetoire and will stun the most pedantic of people.

P.s
just make sure you are willing to go out and by dozens of cans first!!
