Wonder Coin

A beautiful piece of coin magic. Here is just one effect using this. Two £1 pieces are placed on a table and covered by a glass. The glass is simply moved, one coin visibly leaps through and into the glass, the other remains on the table. There are twelve routines using this super little prop, all described in the instructions.
Also available in two 10p pieces.

this dosn't make sense sounds similar to coin unique i'd be interested in a demo.

Does anyone know if this, and the coin unique (10p/2p version) on the same page are actually Eddie Gibson originals?

Sounds like it's a coin unique with 2 pound coins, see here.

By the way I've been looking for a 2p/£2 coin unique. Anyone know where to get one?

Only problem is that the orioginal post was from a different dealer.

I am aware that the name 'coin unique' belongs (or at least I think it does) to Eddie Gibson and that's why others call their versions something different such as Miracle coin or Coin Pro etc. I particularly want an Eddie Gibson version of 10p/2p of coin unique which I note isn't mentionned on the dealers site that you posted. I've seen a number of versions by others and the quality has been poor in comparrison to Eddie Gibson coins that I have seen.

The search continues.

Merchant of magic sell a 2p/10p version http://www.magicshop.co.uk/COIN_MAGIC.23/UNIQUE_COIN__PRO_.31.html

Although it doesn't say "Eddie Gibson" anywhere there. But the routines included are correct and they do call it a "coin unique". So I presume it is. You have to go to the drag down box thing by the way.

edit*
Ah my mistake yes this is a "Unique Coin Pro"

And there lies the problem - using the words 'coin unique'.

I emailed them a few weeks back and they replied to say that it wasn't an Eddie Gibson.

Well I've got bad news for you dat. I emailed Eddie Gibson Magic to find out where I coud get a "2p/10p coin unique". They responded:

Andrew

I am afraid we no longer produce that version of the effect.

We only do the £1 / 1p Coin Unique

Regards

Eddie Gibson Magic

So it sounds like we're either going to have to get a second hand one, or buy a non Eddie Gibson one. I hear the Alakazam ones are good...

..but you know I'm just not sure if I want to take the risk and buy something that doesn't look real, and I'll never use. It's a tough call.

Mahoney - I was aware of this but sometimes it's still worth checking with dealers just in case they have and remaining stock - although I've pretty much exhaused them all now and without any success.

I'm willing to buy second hand but am carefull following a recent incident which I posted about when buying from ebay.

I'm also aware that therer are some very poor models out these on sale from dealers.

Thanks for the interest though

Well from what i know, Eddie Gibson is legally aloud to de-face coins, others (like maybe mine i think) are faked (even though mine is absolutely brilliant!) and sometimes are of lesser quality and not made properly. With Eddie's you know that they are perfect.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. After all, it's likely to be more illegal to produce a replica of a coin (ie. a forgery) than to deface a legitimate coin. I can't see why one particular company should have permisison to break the law anyway.

I think it's more likely that with the relatively small scale defacement/damage of coins by these companies, and the fact that the end product costs more than the original coin (therefore being unlikely to be deliberately passed off as real currency), it's not really worth anybody's time to prosecute any of these companies for treason or any other laughable offence. Especially since many are overseas.

Pretty much all coin gaffs I have ever seen have been made from real coins (apart from that Marvin's Magic Dynamic coins thing...), though the quality of the workmanship does vary considerably.
