I meant become stickied 8).

Please do move this to Support and Tips if you think it would be better there, I just put it here to try to stop people asking about this sort of thing.

I would recommend Corinda's 13 steps ahead of Annemann, as it is a sequential series of lessons in the principles of mentalism, whilst Annemann is a collection of effects - both are indeed classics, but I personally would recommend Corinda first.

It may not have the instant gratification of DVDs, but those who take the time to sit down and study it, will find true gems, and many valuable lessons in the art of mentalism. People see it as outdated, yet certain well known perfromers perfrom effects from it on tv, straight out of the book.

If mentalism is your passion, and you prefer learning from DVDs (as sems the norm now), then I would follow these up with OSterlind's ETMMM, and then after those Osterlind's Mind Mysteries series, and Banachek's Psi series and Psychological subtelties.

If you like to start with card magic you'll definatly need Royal Road to Card Magic book. I got many dvds before I got this item, and I'm upset about the time I lost before I had it.
L&L has released a nice dvd set companion for Royal Road to Card Magic but if you like a free companion, try gomagicgo podcast. It has a begginer series podcast, running through Royal Road to Card Magic with you.
