Not sure whether anyone has suggested A C.U.P.S support group forum where we could sit around with mugs of coffee and stand up in turn admitting we have a problem.
"Hello my name is greedoniz and I have a C.U.P.S problem"
there could be lots of hugging, crying and a general support network where everyone has a sponsor who can be contacted in the event of someone falling off the wagon and going and buying 4 Jay Sankey products
hi, I'm Larry, and...#sniffs#... this week i spent 50pounds on various things i don't really need! CURSE YOU CUPS!!!
and you've just got it for magic stuff, i have to fend off the CUPS demons of the juggling world too. new poi look so nice, and they're only 5 pounds, how bad can that be? it can be Bad!
I have thought of a slight snag to the idea though.
Is there anyone on this site who is either a recovering C.U.P.S sufferer or a cured one?? If not a load of C.U.P.S people in one place will just egg each other on.
You only have to read the review section of Talk magic to see what can happen when someone suggests something new is really good, Coin in soda can is a perfect example of how C.U.P.S can spread like wildfire.
this month iv'e had to spend £400 changing my disco equipment so i can still do the job which has drasticly reduced my magic budget but thanxs to bill abbotts stand up magic dvd I'm having a THING made up for me at a saving of £30 and I'm adapting his monkey routine so to him i say thanxs very much and "Y", if you get the dvd you will understand.
this month iv'e still got to squeese in a kettle, mercury ring and an udder change bag somehow.
The openess displayed in this forum touches my heart greatly. To know that I am with fellow magic C.U.P.S sufferers warms my cockles.
Let's hope that the sharing of feelings concerning this devasting illness helps all us who have suffered in silence up to now.
£50ish on magic supplies today. only felt "sleight"ly validated by the fact that the money i spent was birthday money. although it would have been better spent paying off a bit of overdraft
Close on £100 on Magic books in the last 3 days ..... but they're an investment, honest they are, Guv.
(Now all I have to do is work on my presentation/excuse for Mrs.M before the credit card bill arrives and all will be well. Pass that gin bottle please......)
