EFFECT: A spectator names any card in the deck and you proceed to remove all 4 of that card. Then you hand the 4 cards to the spectator to shuffle. After this you lay down all four face down cards and tell them to guess which card they think is the one they named. After they point to a card you flip the other three cards face up to reveal that they are blank. Then you flip a few cards from the top of the deck face up to reveal that they are blank. You continue with this to reveal that all the cards are blank, making a blizzard of cards. Finally you flip over the only remaining face down card to reveal that it is their card.

COMMENTS: This is a great trick and I highly recommend it. It is very easy to do and only requires a little bit of misdirection. I wouldn't recommend doing this trick for a big audience though.

I saw this trick being done by a trader at our local magic club and he performed this in front of 20 of us who were very impressed!! Unfortunately he only had a few to sell and as you will agree they were all snapped up....which left me searching everywhere for a set. So where can I get one????

i also recommend themagicwarehouse.com. i bought it there also. this has to be one of the greatest card effects you'll ever perform, if you can pull it off. but i will give you one hint of advice: don't perform it more than once to the same people at the same time, especially to other magicians. you can show lay people a few times, but let at least one day pass between showings. i performed this trick to my brother four times in the span of two weeks and he still thinks this trick is impossible because the deck can be examined. but i showed it to another magician twice and he caught me the second time. so be careful!

Is the Blizzard deck the same trick as mental photography or the nudist deck?

I was thinking of getting the blizzard deck only to see there was a mental photography trick which sounded very similar if not the same.

BLIZZARD is totally different to the mental photography deck (MPD) and is an absolute pleasure to perform. I get great reactions from performing this, as am sure alot of other magicians do.

I have adapted the handling to suit my own needs and use it in close-up, walk around situations and would recommend this over the MPD... but it depends on your budget. You can hand the blizzard deck out to be examined at the climax. I have recently been using a blizzard deck with my contact details on and you can leave them a souvenir of the trick. Great stuff, indeed.

p.s. I picked up mine in Davenports if any locals wish to search it out.
