Hi everybody, im a fairly bad magician who only started 6 months ago, and only found this sight today, I need some help with fairly low level card/coin/dissapearing tricks. ANY information, how-to's, and websites that show guides would be helpful. :D

I recommend a book called 'The Art of Magic and Sleight of Hand by Nicholas Einhorn' if you can find it...

Also try these books:

Royal Road to card magic
Bobos Modern Coin Miracles (I don't have this but it is supposedly very good)

Hope it helps...

..if you want a cheap and cheerful start, jump onto amazon.co.uk and buy a few of Karl Fulve's books...he covers all the basics, and all around a fiver or so...

then once you get an inkling as to what you like, try the ones mentioned by Flash above...

hope you enjoy yourself!

Hey, thanks for the help, but when I say im bad, I don't mean that I can't do anything . I can do a very wide range of sleights and card and coin tricks, im a beginner who wants to be able to say that im intermediate. Again, thank you for the help.

It discussed when we can call ourseleves magicians.
At what level or stage can you call yourself a magician?

I was in Borders just t'other day and they had both of these books in. they are good and I would reccomend them. About £20 for the pair, and enough to keep you busy for a looooooonnnnnnng time!

You might be able to buy them second hand though so do check out various other sources.

Has nobody recommended Born to Perform yet? Strange...

If you would prefer a DVD to a book at the cost of getting less material I would definitely suggest that you take a look at Born to Perform, the DVD in my signature. It's a beginner-to-pro card magic DVD that I really do heartily recommend. It got me started in magic!

Just checked out the link ... to the American site. But don't worry folks, also available on the .co.uk penguin site. I don't know what its like, but on the UK penguin home page they currently have a 7 dvd set of card magic at 40% off.
