The original idea was to do a limited market release of an eBook on about a dozen tomes I've been working on for several years now... believe it or not, not all of it is Mentalism or Bizarre... there's a few on Illusion work, in that this was my prime field of work for over 20 years.
Once the limited marketing was done we were going to take the same books, make some minor changes and additions to them and release them in hardbound form or paper back via a primary magic publisher like Hades, Hermetic Press or some such source. The objective was to give those that purchased teh eBook a good two to three year head start on using the material before it was set out on a more broad industry release.
I do have some minor pieces that may be going to lybray.com in the near future however; basic routines that I just want to put out for the sake of fun more than anything.
What gets to me is the fact that people steal from those that are known to give freely.
I can't tell you how many of my friends (we're talking about major personalities in this industry) that chew me out regularly (and have for nearly 20 years now) for giving so much away and not asking for compensation of any kind or even insisting that people spell my name right on the show credits. Yet, with this little discovery I'm being told in even more direct terms to
"lay low, go into seclusion and make the "Mother F#&*rs pay for it!"" (as in, you must pay big dollars for the books and effects, my time, etc.) These are the exact words offered me by two very dear friends that honestly do give a damn about me... but then, they've been on my case for giving away so much information in these forums all these years... like I've said elsewhere, I'm not a great businessman
Anyhow, thanks to all for their kind words of support. I do hope we can nip these things in the bud before it completely destroys magic.
