That was a joke DON't give him anything unless a vet has looked. Give him plenty of water and dry dog biscuits. A dry food such as bread or biscuit can help soak up any excess acid

Dogs really will eat anything won't they 
And yeah, if it was damaging him he would be throwing up or er...getting it out in other ways. Keep an eye on him for a day or so, if he shows signs of being a bit unlike himself pay a trip to the vets

Seriously, hope the canine is ok. My dog eats all sorts. Just be careful of its backside for a while. Those with smelly pooches will know EXACTLY what I mean.
And don't even think of using such emergent gases as a new form of environmentally safe fuel - the dog would not like it.
