Loads of talk about this at Magic Café but I wanted to know what you lot thought.

As discussed there, it looks just like the old Christmas cracker maths trick ("Is your number on *this* card?") but then others claim that mathematicians have not seen through it. Lots of praise anyway.

WorldMagicShop are doing it with free Banding Around (Russell Leeds); great until you realise that with postage it's already £12 more expensive than at other sites. Not that great a deal then?

Anyway - opinions on Powerball 60?

I have some respected magician friends that have been working it and say its great.

I do like Richards effects he does release some great material.

Let me know your thoughts. It's a spanner in the works within my Bannon vs Brown debate, in terms of what to buy next.

I've never seen such a big difference between how unimpressive a trick sounds on paper against the rave reviews it gets. Very intrigued...

Not had chance to try it yet, but my first thoughts after watching the dvd is that this is fantastic.

Being a worker myself i can see this playing out very well. It's secret (which I'm sure you know) is very well hidden, and the quality of the props is second to none.

I love this already, and i am no fan of gimmicks in anyway, but this will be in my wallet from now on.

Another winner from Abbot and Sanders. And best of all it's not playing cards or coins.

I have just had read through the pdf and there are some great routines and performance ideas in there.

This was in my opinion worth the money. I can see me getting alot of use out of this.

There is a lovely Coincidence routine, and another for that moment when they say if you was a real magician what are the lottery numbers (we have all had this and even more since Mr D Browns little stunt)

I am really looking forward to trying this in the real world and will post more when i have.

I saw this performed at the weekend, and for me the jury is still out. The cards do look like real scratch cards, and they can be routined to avoid pointing to the obvious "Christmas Cracker" method (they can even be turned facedown by the spectator and the number still found - I liked that bit).

The performer suggested that he's never been caught out with them, but I'm not sure i'd be comfortable using them - noticed the necessary "oddness" to the numbering straight away.

OK, I have been playing around with this.

Here's the thing, magicians know the method and laymen don't (they prob don't think we would go to the length we do to use something like this)

It works really well with the correct presentation, i guess some of it just comes down to audience management and an entertaining performance.

Some magicians have worked it out and some have not. But more important not one laymen i have tried this on seems to have even come close.

If you are not out to fool other magicians then there should be no problem.

(I'm pretty sure its only us that has taken that much notice of the Christmas cracker thing anyway)

I heard a couple of guys talking about Powerball at the Ipswich Day and the general consenus seemd to be good - ish but needs the right setting and presentation to make it effective. As I didn't buy the routine I had no real idea what they were referring to but those who do own it might understand what they meant.

Before I bought them I was wondering how it worked. I was afraid you had to do unlogical things (like asking strange questions or something like that). I really had to laugh at the explanation though, it's so simple!
When you buy a magicproduct they often say it's simple to do, but this is really simple! You can fully focus in presentation, what makes this a great tool! I already got great reactions with it

In my opinion you can use this in many ways... It's a way to get to know the number they think about, without them knowing this... I see numerous possibilities
